Best British band of this century? I think so.

I agree. By far the best and most talented band that appeared in the last 7 years. Glad I found another big fan, what are you favorite songs ? _________________

Unlike nearly everyone I know, I like A Weekend In the City much much better than Silent Alarm. "Song For Clay" is definitely my favourite BP song, with Sunday, On, Uniform, Helicopter, and Pioneers close behind. _________________ |

Well in the frist 3-4 months it came out I definitely liked it more than Silent Alarm, but now I'm more 50-50. Most of my favorite songs are on Silent Alarm, but as an album A Weekend In The City is far superiour.
My favorite songs are (in no order) Like Eating Glass, Helicopter Positive Tension, Banquet, She's Hearing Voices, This Modern Love, So Here We Are, Song For Clay (Disappear Here), Hunting For Witches, Uniform, Where Is Home? and Kreuzberg.
As I said, 7 from Silent Alarm, 5 from A Weekend In The City. But as a whole AWITC wins.
And also, I'd like you to tell me, don't you think their latest single choices are terrible ? Especially The Prayer. I like it, but honestly it's one of the 2 or 3 worst songs on the album, and it's not even close to being commercial. _________________

The Prayer is really good, but I thought I Still Remember was the worst song on the album. _________________ |

I'd even choose I Still Remember over The Prayer. I have to say the chorus is amazing, but really not enough to compensate with the rest. I don't know, I just think this song has nothing that gets me.
Right now I'm really into Positive Tension. The last minute and a half of that song is pure gold. _________________

Man, that guitar sound at the beggining before the drums kick in... There's no way someone can even try to reproduce that, at least not if you try to find it yourself.
Russell is a master of guitar effects, and honestly one of the best guitarists I know of. Not technically, but in terms of the sound he's just on another level than the rest of this generation.
