hi there and welcome to a new forum just for Oasis fanatics. for those of us who live and breath the band every minute of the day

i'm rob, im 36 and from England. ive been a massive fan of the band from when i first heard 'supersonic' back in 94. ive called my son Liam after the greatest frontman/singer of all time and hope one day when he's older he will love the band as much as i do.

ive seen oasis many times in the uk, best gigs were manchester city stadium in 2005, finsbury park in 02 and reebok stadium in 2000 (because they played step out and it fucking blew the house down).

fav albums are deffo maybe, be here now, heathen and DBTT. ask me the same question tomorrow and ill probably say wtsmg, sotsog etc etc.....

My turn to introduce myself, now...

My name's Elsa and I'm living in Paris. I'm 22 and I wanna be a journalist. Anyway, my personal's life isn't that interesting, let's talk about the best band of the world. I have discovered Oasis as a teenager in 1995 with, of course, Wonderwall, which is now I think the anthem of our generation. But I have to admit that, at this time, I was more into electro stuff like Fatboy Slim (nobody's perfect, don't juge me). Ironically, the band that made me re-discovered Oasis were the Beatles. I have read a Liam quote saying that he was the new John Lennon. I have bought (What's the story) Morning Glory ? the day after and I was stunned. Just stunned. My mind was blown. I had the revelation, and I thought "this band is BIGGER than the Beatles !". So I stopped living in the past and I started collecting all the albums, all the singles, all the b-sides. I have seen Oasis twice in Paris, and it was the best time of my life. Now I consider myself as a big, big fan. And I'm glad to behave like a fucking lad sometimes, drink beers and swearing all the time. Like my friend St0rm, I have adopted the 'Oasis way of live' and all of you should definitely do the same. Oh, and Noel Gallagher is God. And if you don't like Oasis, just leave that forum right here, right now.... Love xxxx

Hellooooo my name is Nadine and I'm 16 years old (sorry I'm very young, I know!) I love music. Most of the time I listen to British Pop and Rock. By the way I really feel good listening to the 80s and Synth-Pop (New Wave).

Well, I'm no opportunist. I have a mind of one's own to everything. Nobody can tell me what to do and I just speak my mind all the time.
I love writing lyrics. I like to draw and I like to take photos. In summer I will go on a colleague of arts for 3 years.

My aim in life is to move to the UK. I really love the english national football team (particularly I love FC Chelsea) and the language. I've never been in England before. I guess it's time to go there

cheers.

wow, 3 posts here and 2 are from women

well, I'm 20 and Germany's biggest Oasis fan I'd guess
As most of the Oasis fans a got into them thanks to Wonderwall, so I bought Morning Glory (which's the best Album ever as I think) and then Definitely Maybe (which's the second best Album ever as I think) and the rest came step by step
Fav Songs: Wonderwall, Slide Away, Sad Song
Fav B-Sides: Rockin' Chair, Listen Up, Underneath the Sky
Fav Bands: Oasis, Cast, The La's, The Rifles, The Subways
Fav Non-Oasis-Track: Live the Dream by Cast
Fav Solo Artists: John Power, John Lennon, Nick Drake

Dunno what's left to say... if there's something I will say it in the threads for each topic then, so, HELLO OASISFANATICS

Hi, I'm Will and am apparently the only representative from the other side of the Atlantic.

I live in Memphis, Tennessee, the birthplace of rock and roll. It's pretty shitty, but it's my home and I love it. I know more about music than anyone I've ever met. I listen to mostly British rock and indie, but my tastes run all over the place, including ambient electronica, funk, grindcore, death metal, post-rock, and classical. My favorite bands are Oasis, Massive Attack, Radiohead, Depeche Mode, Wilco, Opeth, Elliott Smith, Blur (and everything related to Damon Albarn), Dave Matthews Band, The Mars Volta, Daft Punk, Muse, The Clash, Bloc Party, Nine Inch Nails, The Smashing Pumpkins, Interpol, Death Cab for Cutie, ...etc.

My favorite Oasis song (and favorite song, period) is Champagne Supernova. Others would include Stop Crying Your Heart Out, Live Forever, Slide Away, Step Out, Gas Panic, D'You Know What I Mean, Some Might Say, and Won't Let You Down.

I'd love to move to the UK as well, but only if it's London, and that means I'll have to make a LOT of money. So maybe someday...

Hey, I'm Marc and I'm the second representative of the other side of the Atlantic. I'm from Montreal, Canada, and I've lived seven years of my life in UAE (United Arab Emirates. It's a long story.) from when I was 2 to 8, then moved back in Montreal for good. I'm 18 and a massive Oasis fan since summer 2003.

Some people like St0rm know my story with Oasis but for the other people here I guess I'll copy-paste it from my journal at last.FM.

In June 2003 I had this school trip to Spain (and a bit of France), and a few days before I was shopping with me mum for the last minute stuff. She gave me 20 dollars and told me I could get a new CD for the plane-bus rides, so I went and looked, but didn't really find anything (I was a big Sum 41 fan at the time haha), but for some reason I stopped on Oasis' (What's The Story) Morning Glory? And I can tell you, I remember that very moment where I took this album and held it in my hands, like it was yesterday, or earlier today if it's better. I looked at the back cover, and I told myself : well, at least there's Wonderwall on it, thinking it'd probably be the only good song.

God I was wrong. When I came back from the trip I didn't give a fuck about Wonderwall. The two weeks it lasted have been some the best days of my life, and the only reason for it was the bus and plane rides which lasted hours, accompanied by this album on repeat, or the evenings on the beach listening to Champagne Supernova while looking at the Mediterranean sea.

My favorite band after Oasis is The Stone Roses. Then, there's (in no order really) The Libertines, Bloc Party, Arctic Monkeys, The Strokes and Muse.

I don't have much hobbies except for music. I play guitar and bass (4-5 years), drums (3-4 years) and I quite enjoy singing too.

And that's already more than enough.

Haha thanks a lot. I have to say I like the way I got into Oasis. And I didn't say it in the journal, but I also fell in love durig this trip, which gave so much more sense to songs like Wonderwall and Champagne Supernova.

I bought Definitely Maybe a few days after coming back from Spain, and all the others followed in a month or so.
