It was in the 29th January, last year in Lille for the DBTT tour. I unfortunately couldn't stand with the crowd because I had a monstruous pain in the back, but it WAS my best souvenir of Oasis live. A unique experience, and as my friend St0rm will say, probably better than s.x (hehe). Anyway, Liam was wearing a grey suit jacket with nothing under ( ) and terrible shades, and Noel, cool as ever, his blue polo and jeans... The thing that they played Songbird and the Masterplan this night, and they didn't do that in Paris in October. And Songbird makes me melt everytime I listen to it, sigh.... An Oasis is quite difficult to describe though, you have to fucking live it to believe it. Do I need to add that I'm already excited about the next tour ????

i'm buzzing already about the next album and tour and nothing has been announced yet

ive seen Oasis many times and every gig was a day to remember for the rest of my life (and others as im always telling people about them).

a few moments i'll pick out were seeing fucking thousands of people singing along to Lyla at the city of manchester stadium in 2005, ive never seen so many people in one place singing and going wild and the atmosphere could have blown the planet up. also at the beginning of the gig when the fence had to be repaired before the band could play, noel looked at the giant screen behind him which was streaming a live feed of 'Live 8' and said to the crowd, "bet you're glad you're here instead".....

another was hearing the band play 'step out' at the reebok stadium in 2000. holy fuck, it was amazing as was 'gas panic'.

I've never had the opportunity to see them. From what I can tell Liam's voice is massively disappointing live.

Oasis have been in Montreal twice.

- The first time in 1995 I reckon. I was six years old so, yeah.

- They scheduled a gig in 1997 I think but was canceled due to a monstruous ice storm.

- Their last gig in Montreal was in 2002 for the HC tour. I got seriously into Oasis not ever a year after.

- They played Toronto in May 2005. I'll remember this time all my life as the day I could've seen Oasis live.

I think I'm gonna go in my room and cry now.

as soon as the new tour is announced marc, get hold of tickets for wherever. im looking at getting UK and hopefully tickets for Paris if they play there.

an Oasis gig is like no other. its an event that will change you're life completely. no other band ever can do this.

live forever man...

That is my intention. They play Toronto often, so next time I'll make the trip.

I've seen some damn good concerts. It will take a lot to beat them

The other gripe I have about Oasis live is that their setlists consist almost entirely of singles and crowd-pleasers. I prefer it when bands make really long shows with a totally surprising setlist where you just go "I can't believe they're playing that". It's all about the suspense. Sure I'd LOVE to hear Oasis' classics live, but I would also love to hear some lesser known b-sides too. The Smashing Pumpkins are a great example of a band who crafts their setlists masterfully.

Well they do play a lot of b-sides in their concerts. Acquiesce, The Masterplan, Half The World Away were regulars on the setlist back in the day. On the DBTT tour, they brought back Bring It On Down which is a fucking great idea.

And there are a lot of #1 singles they practically never play, D'You Know What I Mean, All Around The World, Stop Crying Your Heart Out... Those songs could be obvious choices for a band playing all the hits at their gigs, but I think they try at least a bit to make it unpredictable.

I was speaking of their most recent tour. This was the setlist (I don't think it changed):

Turn Up The Sun
Lyla
Bring It On Down
Morning Glory
Cigarettes & Alcohol
The Importance Of Being Idle
The Masterplan
Songbird
A Bell Will Ring
Acquiesce
Live Forever
Mucky Fingers
Wonderwall
Champagne Supernova
Rock 'n' Roll Star
Supersonic
The Meaning Of Soul
Don't Look Back In Anger
My Generation

Not counting the songs from DBTT and My Generation, every song they played was a single, with the exception of Bring It On Down, and two songs from The Masterplan, which are both still incredibly popular Oasis songs. Not to mention they didn't play anything from Be Here Now or Standing On the Shoulder of Giants, and only played one song from Heathen Chemistry.
If they had dropped Gas Panic or My Big Mouth or Let's All Make Believe in the middle of there, then we might be getting somewhere. It would also be nice if they changed their setlist from show to show.
