U2's last tour was the Vertigo tour, which sold out all 131 shows and was the second highest grossing tour of all time...
Don't Believe the Truth has sold about 4 million worldwide. How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb has sold almost 10 million worldwide. (As far as total album sales go, U2 have sold about 170 million, whereas Oasis have sold about 50 million)
I will argue all day that Oasis is the far superior band, but there's no denying that U2 is bigger. _________________ |

read up on Knebworth. so many people rang for tickets that the whole UK telephone network nearly went down.
to date, Oasis tours sell tickets faster than any band and thats fact.
as for U2, well they are a 'global brand' and sold out to be 'commercial' years ago. just like the rolling stones...... _________________

Well, it's not like they became popular by selling out. In my opinion, Achtung Baby is their best (and most artistic) album, and it was released pretty much at the height of their fame, and preceded one of the most ridiculously awesome and over-the-top tours of all time, the ZooTV tour. The Joshua Tree is generally considered their best and most popular album, and it's definitely not a sellout album. The 3 since Zooropa would be their commercial albums, but no one really considers them great anyways.
